Yes, autumn is here!

The days are getting shorter and the sunlight takes on that special warm glow. The garden is slowly starting to get ready for the approaching autumn. Many plants are getting past their prime and the summer bloomers are putting on their last show. Yet this does not have to mean that it is done with colour in your garden. On the contrary, in autumn you can still expect a great show of colour from plants that are at their best in September and October. These are our favourite shrubs for autumn.

Abelia

Abelia Sweet Emotion® can be enjoyed all year round. In spring, enjoy the beautiful white-pink flowers with their lovely scent. The shiny green leaves look fresh and catch the eye, especially when they turn orange-red in autumn.

Diervilla

With its striking purple-black leaves, Diervilla Kodiak® Black is an eye-catcher in your garden all summer long. In autumn the leaves turn to a beautiful bright red colour that really pops! Diervilla Kodiak® Orange and Red also have beautiful autumn colours.

Viburnum

Viburnum is a true autumn shrub. The brilliant leaves of Viburnum Oh Canada® resemble those of the maple tree. They sprout red and later turn yellow. They keep this cheerful colour until autumn. This is also when numerous bright red berries appear. Birds love this too. Talking about autumn colour splendour!

Cephalanthus

Cephalanthus is a relatively unknown shrub that is special in all seasons. In spring, the flowers of Cephalanthus Sugar Shack are dainty white orbs that are also fragrant. In autumn, ornamental ball-shaped red fruits appear.

Aronia

Aronia has perhaps the most beautiful autumn colours! Aronia Revontuli® Mound remains compact and flowers in spring with dainty white flowers. Its leaves remain fresh green in summer and turn an amazing orange-red colour in autumn. And it is a great groundcover: ideal in low-maintenance gardens.

Give your garden a colour boost in autumn. Immerse yourself in the yellow, orange and red colour spectacle with shrubs that are at their best in autumn. Yes, autumn can begin!
